Hey I work on two people who hav Parkinson.

One case is severe.. the feet are extrememly tight. There is swelling. It's not good. Tremors as well. She is so uncomfortable at times.... and cannot move herself to become comfortable. her emotional well-being is challenged as well, since she just lost her husband by somewhat of a surprise. I do well to sit with her and keep her in a positive place. . . working lighter than light <

Is there a point when you know you know there's not much one can do, or am I falling short of practicing reflexology and just need to communicate? ? ?

Other case, I'm having a lot of positive results...working everything, lite and not too long. The feet do want to resist and pull away so I pay attention to that. This person is able to walk still and doesn't have a lot of tremor going, but is in his 90's....and doesn't want to live forever.

Hi Kate,
Case 1. Some times just being there brings comfort to someone in need. But I do think you can help her to feel more comfortable. For the tightness in her feet as well as the tremors work the liver reflex and add the points on her feet Liver 2 and 3. You can work these lightly or just hold on the points lightly. An important aspect is her emotional state – that of grief and loss. The lung reflex can help with this and especially the acu-point Lung 7 which is specifically for grief and sadness. The spleen reflex is important for the swelling and the acu-point spleen 6 is very useful. This is usually a sensitive point so work it gently. General lymph drainage technique on the feet and ankles helps too.

Case 2. Sounds like you are doing a great job.
